It had long been an ambition of ours to have electronic maestro Frankmusik play EQ Music Live. When we realised Vince would also be celebrating a decade making music, it seemed even more appropriate the milestone be recognised, with an intimate, EQ Music Live show.
As long-time uber fans of the insanely multi-talented artist, it was an honour for us to have Vince play a headline set at Zigfrid von Underbelly. He chose to keep the gig fresh and up-to-the-minute specifically, performing tracks that were lifted, from the most recent EP’s “SS17” and “AW17” only. By playing songs that included “June 17th“, “Shanghai“, “Going Under“, “WYG” and “Bases” which were not as familiar as his earlier hits, I felt the audience showed an extra bit of added appreciation to the new music.
While a few of us uber fans queued up to have souvenier selfies taken with our electronic pop idol, Raj caught up with Vince backstage at EQ Music Live to talk about his amazing ten years in electronic pop music. What it’s like being an artist in the shifting landscape of the music industry, his advice for new artists and why he doesn’t rest on his laurels.
Catch up on what happened at Frankmusik’s headline set with our live footage of the truly, memorable evening at EQ Music Live presents.
