Honestly, in terms of new releases. It is surprising to me that this week has turned out quite busy. Especially since I was expecting a slow paced one. However, in a week when Madame Tussauds unveiled seven new wax sculptures of the pop star. I didn’t expect Harry Styles to drop a new video for his track “Daylight.” Nonetheless, I’m thrilled that he did. Especially, as I can depend on Harry to have created something both extraordinary and spectacular, no doubt.
“Daylight” is such a beautiful song from the “Harry’s House” album. I love how the lyrics are so personal and reflective, and the slower pace really adds to the dreamy feel of the song. It’s crazy to think that this is the fifth video from his 3rd album, and it’s probably the last one too. The lyrics really hit home for me, especially when Harry sings about how he gave his all to a lover who pushed him away. It’s a heartbreaking scenario but also so relatable.
It’s always a mystery what Harry will bring us in his music videos. But I do always however anticipate that he’ll deliver something truly innovative and one-of-a-kind, brimming with heartwarming moments of quirkiness. It is therefore not surprising that the “Daylight” video is circus themed. The concept is not as unusual as it first appears. In the video, Harry is seen rehearsing before the grandest show on earth, goes live. I realized that he possesses more than one skill to his credit. But rather is a master of all trades. In any situation, Harry obligingly gets stuck in with skill and aplomb, whether it’s throwing knives or firing cannons.
Harry’s attention to detail and passion for his work shines through in everything he does. It’s clear that he puts a lot of love and care into every aspect of his projects, which is something that I wholly appreciate. And the fact that he chose a Ukrainian creative team for this video is a testament to his commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the industry. Tanu Muiño, the director, is truly talented and has an incredible eye for detail. It’s heartening to see how all their hard work has come together so beautifully in this visual production.
