We have been writing about and bringing to your attention more than a good share of musical sister duos in music pop over the years. (With Tegan and Sara, Electrovamp, The Bloom Twins, Say Lou Lou, and REYNA being good examples of such). I am hoping that the newly formed Danish-Icelandic sister duo EYJAA might prove to have as much staying power as the aforesaid, sister pop acts. Because of being built around a catchy riff. Sara and Brynja garnered a fair bit of attention when releasing their debut track “Don’t Forget About Me” in February this year. They’ve returned with the follow up “The Wrecking Crew“. A gentle, swoony slice of dreaminess where their angelic, harmonised voices take centre stage.

The Wrecking Crew” is a song where the sister’s question their happiness.

“Going through life, we all experience challenges that we tend to overthink or simply misunderstand within ourselves. “The Wrecking Crew” is about how you are never alone with your thoughts. Really, it can be just as beautiful to be sad as it can, to be happy. It’s just human emotions, and they are not unknown to any of us.” EYJAA, state.

What I liked about this song is that it has an understated kind of elegance. Of the style, Nordic pop artists do, especially, well. Their voices are silky and graceful. The melody, gorgeous and breezy. When is it best to listen to “The Wrecking Crew“? I would advise it best to tune into this track when you are yearning for moments of solitude. Seeking peacefulness and calm. An excellent choice to heighten the experience of taking in a spectacular view of mountains, the sea or, by just looking up at a beautiful ocean blue sky. Luxuriating in a bubbly bath or by practising meditation. The lovely soothing allure while, being beautifully composed, is also a helpful aid to stress-busting.

Thought-provoking lyricism. Where a lively melody and positive vibe go hand in hand. I was wondering why they struck upon naming themselves EYJAA. After listening to “The Wrecking Crew” I think I worked it out. It is because when you listen to their music, your first response to it is likely to be, aww. Which is kind of similar in sound to their name.
