Yes, to new, Baby Queen! Not content with making a bold impression on the music scene in 2020, Bella Latham (BQ) has started 2021 in the same adventurous fashion that she ended the year on. By shaking up music senses everywhere with her buzzy, spirited alternative pop efforts. She’s back with a new single “Raw Thoughts” and, I am so thrilled about this one, because of its more prominent use of synths. I really think that if you haven’t yet been persuaded to jump on the Baby Queen, bandwagon. “Raw Thoughts” is where you get on. Although obviously, I hope you made time during the holidays to check out the newcomer’s debut EP “Medicine,” (make it a priority if you haven’t.)

The release of the “Medicine” EP ensured Baby Queen has two feet placed firmly on the pop ladder, that’s she’s determined to climb to the top, of the pop charts with time. Recently, she linked up with the provocative pop force Yungblud, albeit digitally, on a virtual tour. Watching this mini-set from the pop upstart, felt like I was being hit by a tsunami of cosmic eruptions. A breath of fresh air definitely wafted in, which is no bad thing given the blah, blah dumpster fire 2020 ended on.

Quite honestly, I’m prepared to take all the life-affirming anthem’s Baby Queen shoves my way. But “Raw Thoughts” particularly feels like the icing on the cake coming at the end of a challenging couple of weeks. The singer cites the track as being…

“probably the most important song I’ve released to date because it’s actually the song that catalysed what has become the sound of Baby Queen.” She wrote the track after a massive night of partying and says. “I had been on one of the biggest nights out of my entire life and had woken up dreadfully hungover. I think up until that very point in my life, I didn’t know what partying was.”

“Discovering partying was like discovering freedom.”

Amen to freedom! Amen to this power anthem “Raw Thoughts” as well. Do I have a girl crush on Baby Queen? Absolutely, yes. When I’m listening to Baby Queen tracks, I feel like I’ve been spun upside down and I am being held up by the ankles. Exactly like experiencing a full rush of blood to the head. Her quirky, unforgivingly honest music makes me feel alive. Long live Baby Queen.
