It felt like we lagged behind and waited so long for Allie X’s much critically acclaimed album offering ‘CollXtion 1’ to be with us in the UK, but that hasn’t stopped us in anyway embracing all that the synth-pop artist has shared out since first impacting online a couple of years ago.
Aside from her own project, Allie X has become a co-collaborator on Troye Sivan’s debut album “Blue Neighbourhood” extensively contributing in a co-writer capacity. Flexing her skills in this way has enabled the eclectic performer to step away from her own visually bold identity and really harness some of her underlying talent as a songwriter, which sometimes isn’t appreciated as much as it should be owing to her heavily theatrical image.
On Troye Sivan’s part when seeking a support act for the North American leg of his current run of tour dates, it isn’t then so much a surprise to learn that Allie X has earnt the coveted spot.
With the promo on Allie X’s “CollXtion 1” finalised and work in progress taking hold on the follow-up effort, the Torontonian electronic pop upstart has plundered her newest workings to share something new to her ever growing fanbase.
True to the running form of Allie X’s dizzyingly peppy synth-pop compositions the rising star presents new track “Old Habits Die Hard” as a FREE DOWNLOAD.
Just because it’s a Freebie doesn’t mean it’s in anyway sub-par to any of her other releases, it’s that she’s so brilliant at what she creates, she has a tonne of great output which far exceeds all that she needs for the next project maybe?
