Pop newcomer thisisNAMASTE has enjoyed an impressive run of singles. From where we first met her on “Exactly What You Want” to most recently with “I Can Do It.” The singer’s uplifting songs are rife with empowering lyrics and fizzing musicality. After the upheaval and stressful few months, everyone has been through of late. I feel we need a bit of both of these facets making their presence felt in music. ThisisNamaste obliges on “Girl I Got You” which arrives as her first release of the year.
Wellbeing and mental health issues are at the forefront of the singer’s mind, on the latest offering. Explaining…
“This song is about my constant inner battle with anxiety. Sometimes I feel like I am on top of the world and can do anything, but then my anxiety decides to pipe in, and is like, “haha you suck!” And, makes me second guess everything. This song is a reminder to myself and hopefully to others that we are bigger than our anxieties and insecurities. We can do whatever we set our minds to, and we truly are enough.”
The lyrics of the track are especially comforting at this time. When we have had to be kept apart from our friends and members of our families. The exact people we turn to, to light us up in our darkest of moments. Replete with a catchy beat throughout and an earworm pop melody. There is plenty of cheery optimism going on in this track, to smile about.
There is no doubt whatsoever, thisisNAMASTE keeps unleashing the catchiest tunes this side of anywhere. Delivering, brightly coloured pop hooks and rousing choruses. She is making the style, her signature brand. Always evolving – always pushing boundaries – always moving forward. The plot continues to thicken for thisisNAMASTE in the best of ways.
