Midnight Kids is a production duo based in LA. They started out, whipping up a following with some sizably large remixes for fellow production led duo’s The Chainsmokers and Louis the Child, among others. Nobody knew the ‘kids identities until a few months ago when they released their debut single “Find Our Way.” The outfit is comprised of Kyle Girard and Dylan Lee (son of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee and actress Pamela Anderson.) What has got me interested in these guys, is “Serious” their latest collaboration with Matthew Koma.

Being as I haven’t seen Matthew jump into the role of vocal assist for another production sought collective in quite some time. (Koma has been concentrating on getting his latest project Winnetka Bowling League off the ground, (whose music style traverses a mellow, alternative lane.)) I was eager to check out “Serious“, not just for another chance to enjoy Matthew’s meaty pop suited vocals. But also to become better acquainted with the Midnight Kids melodically, zesty style of production. The LA-based duo proves themselves as instant players in the EDM sphere. They have amassed the necessary melodic crafting and mastered the ability to blend in emotive nuances into their key signature style. To have themselves sit comfortably alongside the more, recognised contemporaries in the EDM genre.

They are causing the right kind of noise and in the right kind of places. The track “Serious” has achieved numerous New Music Friday placements on Spotify and is currently in rotation on Sirius XM’s BPM. And, since they are now willing to step out of the shadows and meet with their fans. There’s now a video which further invites us to hang out with him in their world. Watch as the duo plus Matthew sneak off to the skate park to observe a group of young friends enjoying each others company. By seeking adventure, and at a midnight pool party. I guess these are things most kids do if they happen to live in LA. Not so much of the like occurs where I’m from in Suffolk, UK. Where a visit to the cinema and maybe a spot of bowling is the norm.

Midnight Kids intent to crash land into the EDM sphere is without a doubt. They are definitely an act to have on your radar through 2019.
