How do fans of the Spice Girls bridge the gap between the 2019 Spice World reunion tour and the rumoured 25th-anniversary world tour in 2021? They get behind Sporty (Melanie C) who has announced her eighth solo album, self-titled “Melanie C” due in October. Not so arguably Sporty has grown to be the most musically successful of the fivesome. While whispers abound, if the Spice Girls DO tour next year, it will likeliest be the last time they go out on the road as a group. Melanie C shows no signs of replicating the same fate with regards to her solo career. Currently, she’s falling “In and Out of Love” on her latest single.
The third release lifted off of her upcoming self-titled “Melanie C” album has the global, pop singer excited by dance-pop grooves and following empowering narratives. The track is built around a snappy beat and has the pop diva in Melanie shining out. There is nothing strange about, her making statements with power songs. She’s been doing it this way since her Spice Girls beginnings, of course. It’s not so often we’ve seen her basking under the sparkly disco lights, though. She is more than equipped to carry the mood off. With a dash of added spice, naturally.
The music video sees the singer linked up with director Graham Cruz. Shot in the legendary Alexandra Palace. The clip reveals Melanie, lost in the music while getting down with some hip-thrusting choreography. Without as much as breaking into a sweat.
