Make no mistake, Remi Wolf unquestionably turned heads with the groundbreaking cross-genre music styling of her debut album “Juno.” While some may perceive the diverse approach as chaotic, it undeniably exudes a captivating hyper-sensibility. While not every piece may align with personal taste, those that do resonate are undeniably striking, showcasing remarkable lyrical and vocal prowess.

Remi’s highly anticipated sophomore album era is kicking off with a bang. The reveal of her upcoming album “Big Ideas,” set to drop on July 12th, has fans buzzing with excitement. Additionally, the release of the first single, “Cinderella,” has set the stage for what promises to be an incredible musical journey.

In the release “Cinderella,” Remi boldly incorporates 70s funk influence into her distinctive alt-pop fusion, bringing a modern twist to the classic sound. This bold blend of retro vibes and contemporary storytelling makes “Cinderella” a compelling and assertive musical statement. Despite the title, the song’s lyrics showcase Remi in the role of a confident and empowering fairy godmother, providing unwavering support during challenging times.

Further elaborating on this, Remi explains…
“‘Cinderella’ is a lyrical collage of the ups and downs mood swings and transient lifestyle I was experiencing while writing this album.

And for the music video…

Well, Remi isn’t sweeping up the cinders from an open fire, similar, to the Brothers Grimm fairytale, that’s for sure. The clip directed by Ragan Henderson and Remi depicts a carefree afternoon spent in the park with a colourful group of friends. This particular, afternoon outing involves Remi indulging in a spot of jazzercise, completed with her garbed up in a fantastic pair of colour-changing leg-warmers. But that’s not all . She is joined by Canadian multi-hyphenate Mac DeMarco, who undertakes the role of an ice cream seller. In essence, the clip equals the arrival of the kind of summertime vibes we are craving.

Similarly, with the changing of the seasons in mind. This spring Remi heads out on tour with Olivia Rodrigo on her European leg of the GUTS World Tour. And where she will play venues like The O2 in London and Accor Arena in Paris. See here for more info.
