The breakout pop artist and singer-songwriter, is unveiling an exciting new side to his music. His sophomore EP “Where It Hurts“, set for release on May 17th, promises to be a game-changer for his fans. Leading up to the big drop, Dan has teased us with singles “Rewritten” and “Rich Man“, and furthermore, these tracks demonstrate a more authentic and lyrically-driven approach to his song-making. Speaking about the new song, Dan Aura said: “This was probably one of the most cathartic songs I’ve written, as it almost word for word describes a situation I encountered at the beginning of last year. For me, it’s my “screaming song,” and I think it’ll help a lot of people that have ever felt strung along by someone.”
It is impossible to ignore the captivating power of “Where It Hurts.” Nor that Dan knows how to connect with his audience. This is because right from the start, Dan has the listener in the palm of his hand with his stripped-down approach. The straightforward, yet effective combination of his heartfelt vocals and the gentle finger-picking of an acoustic guitar creates an intimate atmosphere that draws us in. That is seen in the anthemic affirmation “I know what I want,” and the bold statement-making of the chant “hit me where it hurts.” And in turn similarly, where these shouty bits leave us feeling invigorated.
