When we think about Heidi Klum, the first things that spring to mind are fashion and modelling. We also recall her stints hosting Germany’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, and her part on the judging panel of America’s Got Talent.

However, Heidi works within industries where music often plays an important role. While it is a true comment, that she is not primarily known for her musical abilities. She has, however, dabbled in singing from time to time. Even so, she has never so much as recorded something as daring as her latest track. A cover version of Corey Hart‘s 1983 hit “Sunglasses at Night” produced by the renowned DJ Tiesto, is her most ambitious yet. The song is featuring as the title track of the latest series of Germany’s Next Top Model, (a show Heidi has hosted for many years). And it’s impressive to see her pushing herself creatively and exploring new avenues.

It’s worth noting that Heidi may not claim to be a vocal powerhouse. She is, however, deeply passionate about music and simply wanted to have some fun when she recorded “Sunglasses at Night” as the title track for her long-running hit programme. Even though the song is an 80s classic, Tiesto’s updated danceable version makes it perfect for young models on the runway or anyone looking to dance.

As for an official music video, there’s no word about one dropping yet. Instead, a visualiser is unleashed featuring Heidi seemingly working a photographic shoot. Perfecting poses she has doubtless performed thousands of times throughout her modelling career.

So, whether you’re a fan of the original or merely looking for some infectious background music. Give “Sunglasses at Night” a listen now. And in turn, you’ll recognise why it’s still a relevant song today.
