Welcome to a brand new feature on EQ Music called “Boys On Film” which is a collaboration with my long-time entertainment partner-in-crime Phil Marriott.
For the past three years, as part of our new music coverage at SXSW in Austin, I’ve been quietly reviewing some of the great new films and TV shows that get their world premiere there and needless to say, I’VE BEEN ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT.
Back in London, Phil and I also regularly attend the prestigious BFI London Film Festival and BFI Flare Festival for LGBTQ films, both being film festivals that we are equally passionate about.
Phil and I regularly create music content, but we’ve always tried to find ways of working together more collaboratively. I’ve DJ’d as some of his events (back when I thought I wanted to be a DJ) and you could definitely catch Phil DJ’ing at some of our electronic pop events like EQ Music Live in London and the Poptronik Festival in Spain.
So, after a night out at the UK Video Music Awards a few weeks ago, Phil and I decided that our mutual passion for film and TV is something new we’d love to collaborate on together and we made it happen.
