Do you remember when Benjamin Ingrosso represented Sweden at Eurovision? The year was 2018. The contest took place in Lisbon, Portugal, and Benjamin Ingrosso had the heat on him to do well with the entry “Dance You Off.” However, as we know, it was Netta who came away victorious with the resplendent, overall winning song “Toy.” But also Benjamin reaped some benefits, namely having had his music launched internationally. Similarly, he remains a prominent name in Swedish music circles and continues to grow his global fanbase while regularly diversifying his musical sound.
As you might expect of him, he’s recorded lots of tracks sung in his native Swedish. Although, Benjamin Ingrosso’s latest release, “Kite,” is a delightful English-spoken track that showcases his versatility in an upbeat, jaunty alt-pop style. When thinking about “Kite,” it is a song about experiencing feelings of euphoria, especially when meeting someone new and falling under their spell. Interestingly, it somewhat gave me Harry Styles and Alphabeat vibes when I first listened to it. And with the announcement of his “Better Days Tour” in Europe, it’s the perfect time to enjoy his latest music.
If you haven’t heard Benjamin’s newest song “Kite” yet, it’s worth checking out. Not only is the song catchy, but the music video is visually stunning, and Benjamin looks incredibly stylish and confident. His mannerisms even give off Harry Styles vibes, which could be the aesthetic he was aiming for. Either way, it’s clear that Benjamin is nailing his new era. Meanwhile, “Kite” has already claimed the top spot on the music charts in Sweden, just days after its release. It’s only a matter of time before the rest of Europe takes notice of this fresh and exciting sound.
On his “Better Days” Europe tour, Benjamin has one London date. He’s Stopping off at “Heaven” on the 4th of April. (Tour Tickets HERE)
