Sweden’s Frida Sundemo drops glistening synth gems as though they are little pieces of magic. We’ve been under a spell with Frida for some time now, and her tracks certainly have earned a reputation for a talented ability to create beautiful melodies which display a mature balance of quality and command in performance. Investing a little time to check out Frida’s sublime back catalogue of tunes is a worthy few minutes of your life spent if you’re a fan of Scandinavian pop at it’s best.
When it comes down to it, we’ve been craving a Frida Sundemo album for quite some matter of time. To finally be told highly anticipated, international debut album “Flashbacks & Futures“, is due on October 6th, is the kind of good news we need to help us through the chilling winter months ahead.
Before the album arrives, there’s majestical lead-in single “Gold“, to enjoy first. I think Frida’s burgeoning movie acting career, (she played a leading role in the Hollywood movie, “Kill Your Friends” alongside, Nicholas Hoult and James Corden), has steered Frida into making a soundtrack of her own because recent tracks have adopted a distinctive classical crossover style and cinematic approach. A style which again finds itself put to superb use with heavenly orchestral arrangements on “Gold“.
