What better way is there to spend a lazy summer Sunday than to head down to Hyde Park and take in all the music entertainment on offer at the British Summer Time festival. Although, enjoying ourselves was high on the list of priorities, lazing around is not really our style and anyways there were so many new pop stars milling about, we just had to get in the thick of it at the press area and go get them interviews to bring to you.

British Summer Time runs over two weekends and this year we were on site for Bieber day! Aside from the headliner, there was a huge amount of new music talent on the bill and it was this crop of future pop stars that were our biggest reason for spending a jolly good day out in the baking hot London sun.

Mabel McVey first appeared on the pop landscape back in 2015. Her soulfully slinky debut single “Know Me Better” did a good job of creating a resounding impression with us. Ever since Mabel’s hype trending debut, we’ve been keen to see how the daughter of Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey of Massive Attack would continue in carving out a career in music for herself. So, we pulled Mabel up for an interview to go a little more in-depth about “Know Me Better”, new single “Bedroom” and of course, we just had to ask what growing up with pop stars for parents was really like…
