There is no where you can go where you will not be bombarded with Walk the Moon’s hit single ‘Shut Up and Dance.’ Since their explosion on the market, the Ohio native band, has done nothing but continually pursue the creation of music that makes you lose all negative feelings and become one with the music. Exactly what it’s meant to do. Recently, the boys of Walk the Moon have teamed up with dance superstar Steve Aoki and Boehm to create that feel good hit we all need called ‘Back 2 U’
In classic Steve Aoki fashion, he has taken another great band who is dominating the pop world and infuses his classic dance sound to bring us a song we never knew we needed. ‘Back 2 U’ is that song. Without becoming too mushy, the track becomes an anthem about how if you really love someone you should let them go. If the fates allow, you will unite again.
This is no ordinary love song. It’s not slow, it’s not gross. It really just makes you feel good. It even has that dance element of uplifting synths that really encompass that feeling that you get when you’re actually in deep love. Full emotional freedom. If Steve Aoki keeps doing this non-traditional electronic dance music, I might have to actually cough up the excessive cover fees to see him next time he’s on the Las Vegas Strip. He’s a true pioneer and I look forward to seeing what kind of surprises he has up his sleeve in the coming months.
Along with the song comes a great little video. Using bright neon filters that bring out that dance element, it actually is really a simple concept. Lovers holding pictures of their significant others. It may be a polaroid, or a background on their smart phones, but overall Steve Aoki, Boehm, and Walk the Moon have proven one thing. No ocean, no river, or no road will ever come between true love.
