After a little teasing, Adam Lambert has released his video for second “The Original High” album, single “Another Lonely Night”.
A track which is high on the pop factor of mid-tempo amazingness, reveals an inner core of poignant introspection, that extends beyond the façade of painted on smiles to psychologically go in deeper amongst a realisation that loneliness lurks beneath.
It’s not all as glum as it sounds by half! Adam is king of being able to immaculately turn-about even a sad song on its head and give it a vibrant release.
“Another Lonely Night” is testament to this, in that it skilfully adheres to the juxtaposition of emotions. Only further reinforced to perfection by the excellently executed, accompanying promo clip which follows 4 characters going about their daily lives and although, each individual seemingly appears to have their lives made in the material sense, in that they have their own apartments and jobs. To not have a special someone to share it all with at the end of the day, can be the loneliest place on earth.
The sense of forlorness is seen at its fullest here, sorrowfully etched on the faces of the characters portrayed.
Amongst the actors cast in this Sin City visual spectacular, transgender YouTube icon Gigi Gorgeous presides over the official duties at a Wedding Chapel. A showgirl dousing herself in glitter to bring a little sparkle into the lives of others. A stripper exposes his nekkid body beautiful, to the appreciative gazes of packed night club. Singer / performer (i.e Adam) goes from coming off stage on a euphoric high to being hit by a wave of solitude.
The common denominator here being, spreading happiness into other people’s lives but in actuality needing of some of the same attention for yourself.
