Clara Mae

Some of you might recognise Clara Mae from her time as part of the lineup of Swedish pop sorts Ace Of Base. The same, who gave us such acclaimed chart hits as “All That She Wants” and “The Sign”, although being that her time was only brief with the band, chances are it’s equally quite possible that you know nothing of Clara at all.

With her time with the band now behind her, the beginnings of a solo career have been taking shape, first with a single release last year by way of aching ballad “Avalon” which is now followed up with a real impression maker in the form of “Strip”.

Now that got your attention didn’t it!

The new single is called “Strip” and it has some racy lyrics in it, which is basically the chorus that goes like this “Why don’t you, strip, strip, strip and take off your clothes, strip, strip, loosen up the blindfold. Why don’t you, strip, strip, strip let them fall to the floor, strip, strip, let your body tell the truth”

Calm yourselves down now, as this is not as seductive or temptress like as it may all first appear. It’s far more meant in the metaphorical sense, as in letting your guard down. However, if you’d prefer it to mean something else, well I’m sure Clara wouldn’t mind if you’re really into the song. Which you should be as it’s of quite substantial pop banger proportions!

The way in which Clara deals this one out, there is no time for being body conscious either, as she’s all rather assertive in the pop sense, oi, oi!

Actually, the song which falls between pop ballad and anthem is rather beautifully crafted in its design and of Clara’s vocal, well that’s dynamic, powering and wholly breathtaking.

Word is, there is more in the offing from Clara real soon with some speak of collaborations with international EDM artists. If they are anyway as good or better than this we are stirred up in hot anticipation and are seated on tenterhooks for their arrival.
