Remember the time when synth-pop went all french-wave and piled on a front of cinematically futuristic DNA aplenty? It came with a full throttle on the gas of embedded nostalgia and it’s still very there amongst us today.
We look no further than LA duo Leitbur to serve us up some of their own brewed synth-matically arranged goodness, which takes delight in the sounds of time-travelling pop lords honour bound for an intergalactic sci-fi package holiday.
You could say, Leitbur have been beamed down straight outta retro heaven. Well most certainly their synthy creations adhere as much to this thinking.
New single “I Need You” sounds like it might have flown right out of a space disco, at any rate!
There is a bigger purpose behind this song than just it’s cosmically grand façade of course, as the lyrics are quick to affirm. It’s a little ode to love and a direct reference to Jaron’s and Samantha of the duo’s impending real-life nuptials. Call us soft-hearted fools but we like to hear of a planet pop romance as much as anyone!
United as a music duo and as a real-life couple, it seems as though Leitbur are more than in-tune with one another as they may at first seem on the surface, as they are positively as one on all levels in their sweet music making from what we are hearing, here.
It’s actually shaping up to be quite a year for these two, as aside from getting hitched they have their debut album “Antique Travelers” on the way real soon.
For the time being, we’re digging on the spacey vibes of current single “I Need You” which are swirling around our headspace basking our music-nerdy brains in a ray of neon energized, intergalactic disco light.
