I must admit I am a total bitch when it comes to covers. Very few artists have successfully mastered the art of covering a song as good as  Whitney Houston did in her rendition of Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman.” It takes courage to recreate the vision of another artist. You have to be confident in your interpretation while holding on to the energy listeners fell in love with. When I heard there was a cover of CeCe Peniston’s “Finally” I was expecting a neo-electronic dance record. I was pleasantly surprised by London native Nerina Pallot and her soft performance. She gave the song an entirely new vibe that will live on forever.

Nerina Pallot is no stranger to delivering high quality music. Her voice is the focal point in every song she releases and never gets lost behind drum machines. In “Finally” she effortlessly transformed the popular 90s dance classic into a beautiful ballad with her heavenly pop vocals. Nerina Pallot captured the romantic essence of this incredible singalong. Well done!

You can hear Nerina Pallot’s version of “Finally” as well as other new tunes on her upcoming EP, “Lonely Valentine Club” due February 11th.
