Xmas Rumors

At this time every year I find my inbox quaking with festive covers, and year upon year the most worked track by far comes in as Wham!’sLast Christmas”. To be honest I’d kind of grown tired of the song and I never was the hugest fan of it from the off. However, my opinion has miraculously been turned around by a rather special synth luscious re-working, which has been brought to fruition by Australian synth pop act Kids At Midnight.

Seriously this cover is so damn dreamily good, it melted my resolve in an instant.

This single seasonal cover is not all by a long shot, it is accompanied by a further three more superb tracks compiled by the Electronic Rumors electronic boutique outlet and further comprises an electro buzzing rendition of Darlene Love’s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home” by Let Em Riot, She’s The Queen’s sassy electro-pop take on Stevie Wonder’s “What Christmas Means To Me” rounded up with a quirky experimental interpretation of “Little Drummer Boy” from Australian electronic producer Beaumont.

The X-masRumors EP is an electronic bountiful haul of yuletide classics, cooked out and crackling tastily with a dash of electronic seasoning and boy does it feed the soul with cheer.

The EP is available via bandcamp with all proceeds taken in donations going directly to a most worthy cause of the Alzheimers Society.
