By and large Brighton based emerging synth-pop duo MIAMIGO see themselves as enigmatic and this most certainly rang true with regard to the promotion of their debut EP “Hard To Love” which dropped earlier this summer.

Mystery aside though, MIAMIGO are definitely showing out to the world that they have the power to turn heads in their direction with the scintillatingly vibrant electronica they make.

Taking on the dark pop arena doesn’t necessarily mean all brooding lines of down-tempo beats as we as electronic pop freaks should all so readily know! There are numerous other ways to explore this territory and MIAMIGO it seems are all for approaching it with a distinct pop noir gusto.

Debut EP “Hard To Love” flagged up the use of a cinematic soundscape, one which boldly adhered to bringing about an impact of epic dynamics.

In coming to follow-up single release of “What I Want” the duo diversify their modern pop sound a little, taking the edge of the synth action with a flourishing accent of sweeping guitar movement. Don’t fret none synth-pop diehards though, there is still plenty of blitzy buzz emanating from the keys to keep you more than adequately appeased in approval.

Also it turns out that MIAMIGO are gradually giving way to the enigmatic persona a touch, as the visual they have served on “What I Want” follows the duo at work in the studio and at play on their home turf in Brighton.

Being that we haven’t yet got to see the masterbrains behind MIAMIGO so properly up close, we’ll take what we can from the grainy D.I.Y video on offer here, on this occasion. Just know that the music is of far better quality by volumes!
