Did you notice? While Dua Lipa (aside from her “Barbie” soundtrack offering) takes a breather from releasing new music, Jess Glynne is making a comeback after a three-year hiatus. She recently announced her latest era with the catchy song “Silly Me” in April. And now, she’s back with another banging track called “What Do You Do?” produced by Chrome Sparks and Stuart Price. In fact, it’s perfect timing for Jess to jump back in the game, especially with the festival season underway.
The song has a lovely dance-pop, club crossover feel to it. It’s the type of track that makes you want to hit the dancefloor and party all night long. Jess, the artist behind this infectious tune has once again proven herself among the dancefloor divas and disco elite with this release. What is more, she recently dropped a music video shot in New York for the song. The video, directed by Henry Dacosta, takes us on an escapade around town with Jess. We get to see her party it up when the sun goes down and while away the daylight hours recovering from the shenanigans of the night before. It’s a fun and energetic video that perfectly captures the spirit of the song.
There’s something about expressing your emotions through music and moving to the rhythm that makes you feel truly alive. Whenever I feel down or overwhelmed, I turn to music and let it take me away. It’s a brief escape from my thoughts and concerns, but it’s an essential one. I believe that everyone needs something that gives them hope, regardless of what they may be experiencing. So, if you need a little boost right now, “What Do You Do?” is the kind of music that can provide it for you. As I feel sure, Jess might say… Let yourself go and dance like nobody’s watching.
