After a show stopping performance at Perez Hilton’s 2013 SXSW party in March and signing to Capitol Records to release their upcoming debut album, Capital Cities are quickly becoming the talk of the town with their unique fusion of electronic and rock music.
The Los Angeles-based alternative dance/pop rock group certainly know how to command the stage and are ready to takeover the radio airwaves. Their current single, “Safe & Sound“, sitting at number six on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart, is an “uplifting, sincere, catchy” piece of jazz pop which will surely have everyone singing along.
Following the release of a black and white promo video, a lyric video featuring two crash test dummies by the names of Safe and Sound, the official video for the band’s single is finally here. Taking place in the newly restored Los Angeles Theater, a bolt of lightning suddenly brings the pictures to life for a competition between all the various time periods and dance styles.
The colors, the vintage meets modern feel, the dancing, the comedy. It all comes together to lift you up. Capital Cities have released a fun video for a carefree, heartfelt track. “Safe & Sound” is the lead single off the group’s debut album, In a Tidal Wave of Mystery, set for a June 11 release.
