Sergey LazarevIt’s been awhile since we’ve had a nice little English touch from the Russian heartthrob, Sergey Lazarev. Off his latest greatest hits album The Best (English edition) comes a video that highlights deep desires when fantasy becomes reality in “In My Lonely Life.”

For a breakup song, In My Lonely Life has a very positive feel. As Sergey sings “in spite of all the pain I’m falling in, I’m going out. “ You’re reminded that you should never have to feel terrible and allow yourself to heal. The biggest standout section of the track is when it gets to the bridge. You’re met with a pulsating electro beat that brings more energy adding life to each word sung. With the very steady pop guitar riff highlighting I’m ready to get over you style lyrics throughout, the song delivers that great dance floor punch. It’s as if Sergey is trying to say that when you are broken down by a prior relationship; there is always someone better out there for you. As shown in the accompanying video.

The video opens up with the group of nerdy boys lead by Sergey gathered on a set of stairs. As Sergey opens up what looks to be an issue of a Russian GQ magazine, he sees a woman that captures his eye. As he looks up, there she is. Throughout the streets, he and the nerd gang try to capture a second stealth like glimpse of her. Yet, their inner attractiveness comes out capturing her attention.

Very similar to the 80’s video The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson; it’s evident, the nice guys will get the girl in the end. I mean, who wouldn’t want to go out with Sergey Lazarev anyway?!
