To tell you the truth, this is the moment I have been waiting out for to arrive in the current promotional release run of Sam Sure’s debut EP “Catching Feelings”.

Singer/songwriter Sam’s a new artist that I firmly have a belief in, to go the distance of some way. Perhaps so far to even score a few hits!

Now, here’s the thing, everything I’ve heard of Sam Sure previous to this, has had the power to captivate me. So much so, that when rolled out his third seriously HOT single “Me & You” I felt I’d really become a committed stan of the unquestionably talented young man.

Afterall, Sam’s thoroughly modern pop sound is in a growth area which plays to his key strengths in lyricism and musicality. These being his artistically inventive tools which when managed by his intelligent pop making approach come into their own and caused me to really prick up my ears and take notice.

With a style which is definitely a little bent towards the pop directive than its urban rooted infliction’s, Sam Sure’s sound in the main is undeniably sumptuous, bordering on chill filtered electronica.

Seriously I was quite beside myself to score an advance listen of this “Catching Feelings” EP a while back and the song I was most excited about was the standout title track itself. I think I would be true in saying that the rest of the EP’s purpose is perhaps to allow Sam a little more flexibility of his artistic license and in saying so, the alchemy of ideas leave a stab of club-orientation and a firmly chill embraced imprint in place. As Sam’s first body of work it, it certainly stands as a solid one.

The track “Catching Feelings” though errs more onside of what I’ve become to recognize as the Sam Sure signature branding, served by those great hip-pop absorbed vocals atop a sonically heavy template.

And so to the main point of this post, the video presentation! Think of it as a polaroid capture bringing to life the ups and down’s of relationships, with Sam in the role of the observer in this. The lucky boy, only got sent all the way to South Africa to film this too. Which is actually good news, because there’s some decent budget being staked on Sam’s development, as an artist of his more than extensive calibre needs if intending to breakthrough to radio, like this track seems destined to be headed towards to my thinking.

I’ve said it times before, Sam Sure is the real deal and this debut EP proves it!
