Two of my favourite music talents joined together recently and quite literally, it got me way excited.

Nelson Clemente's "You Want Me Don't You" got the hot electro remix treatment from none other than one of my new favourite remix teams on the electro scene – Spekr Freks!  The Californian remix duo also have done a new stomping version of Depeche Mode's new single "Peace" too that is streaming on the MySpace…check it out.

I asked Nelson a few questions surrounding this (and other bits) and here's what he said…

Nelson on why he wanted to work with Spekr Freks…

"I heard some of their remixes on MySpace and really dug their beats.  I totally knew they could give my songs more of a club edge, which they did.  I felt they genuinely liked my music, and my voice, so that won me over.  I'm looking forward to working with them again."

Nelson on his upcoming EP for single "90 Days"…

"90 Days" I recorded over a year ago after the "6th Perception" release and I wasn't sure where to place it.  I let it sit for a while, because it was really the start of a new mindset.  A lot has happened in the last year, and with that I've written a few songs that I feel fit perfectly with "90 Days".  That suspiciously felt like an album coming, so I decided I'd give 90 some extra special attention while I put that together.  I'm releasing it as two versions of a single which include remixes and some surprise tracks.  I've already started recording the new EP so this will be a nice in between while I'm working on that."

Nelson on playing London for the first time at EQ @ Underbelly…

"London is a dream destination of mine and I can't tell you how excited I am to finally visit for more than a 2 hour airport stopover.  I've made a lot of 'online' friends and fans in London so this is my chance to say thanks with a live performance and  to meet them in person. Plus, EQ is my favourite music blog, so singing at one of the EQ events is really the perfect occasion to visit.  There are so many things to look forward to I'm going to wet my pants!"
