Ruebenbutchart

Hello Electroqueer readers – today we would like to introduce you to the eclectic and soothing sound of Reuben Butchart.

Reuben Butchart caught our ears a few days ago when we were looking for a new act to highlight and out of the blue, unexpectedly, one of our MySpace friends gave us the lowdown on this talented New Yorker whose songs are reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright, mixed in with the silky smooth-like-butter voice similar to Will Young.

Reuben’s bio claims he trained in the "colorful East Village spectacle of do-it-yourself oddities and legendary drag queens" and it is most certain that this unique form of musical training has given him the freedom to explore unconventional melodies on his sophomore album entitled ‘Golden Boy’ which will be unleashed to us later this month. We are impatiently awaiting for our copy of ‘Golden Boy’ in the mail, but as soon as we have a listen, we will give you a nice album review for your further Rueben Butchart discoveries.

To get a taste of this magnificent talent for yourself, you can visit his MySpace page to preview some of his best tracks from his debut EP as well as his official website to hear the recent duet he did with Antony of Antony and the Johnsons.
