You know, I'm not the hugest fan of The Killers, but I do appreciate what they bring to modern rock music and Brandon Flowers speech last night at The Brit Awards was just amazing. Check out the video above where he gives the "Outstanding Contribution To Music" Award to Pet Shop Boys followed immediately by a time-stopping 10 minute performance of PSB's more cool than cool medley of hits - in which Lady Gaga and Brandon Flowers join them for a bit.

Both Geri and myself are huge fans of Le Gaga (like duh) and we almost peed ourselves when she came onstage during "What Have I Done To Deserve This". Flawless. Geri didn't know she was going to perform with them and right before she came out, I said "Here comes Gaga!" and he got so excited that I had to tell him to be quiet because I couldn't hear what was going on!  Too funny!

And here is some great video footage of Neil Tennant discussing how surprised he was to get this award from the British Music Industry this year. In celebration of receiving their award for "Outstanding Contribution To Music", Pet Shop Boys have announced two very special live shows at Manchester Apollo on June 18th and London O2 Arena on June 19th.  Sounds like all the electro-heads are going to be at the O2 show – myself included!

And the rest of The Brits?

  • Well Duffy took home most of the gongs (Adele must be pissed).

  • There weren't that many pop stars presenting awards which kinda bugged me – who cares about Italian wrestlers, Jaime Oliver and David Hasselhoff being presenters at a music awards show – I would have much rather seen Sam Sparro or Robyn handing out gongs, it would have made the whole thing much more relevant.

  • Take That – it was a strangely weird but cool performance of "Greatest Day".  They looked like futuristic librarians who came down to earth in a spaceship to sing for the masses.  It was weird for them, but I still enjoyed the performance.

  • Who listens to Neil Diamond these days anyway?

  • MGMT got a few nomination nods which was great.

  • Kylie looked amazing.

  • Kanye West gave a strange acceptance speech for "Best International Male"

  • You know Sugababes were pissing themselves when Girls Aloud took home the "Best British Single" Award for "The Promise".
