Actress and singer-songwriter Jessie Malakouti has already had a taste of pop fame which began some five years ago under her birth name with the dark and edgy electro buzzy release “Trash Me”. Quite back then, although, “Trash Me” was distinctly cut with a heavy Depeche Mode vibe echoing from it, there was much speculative talk that the burgeoning pop princess might break-though as the next Britney. That didn’t happen as Jessie Malakouti, but a few years later, re-styled as Jessie And The Toyboys and armed with “Push It” and a clutch of vibrant new tracks saw Jessie realise a shift in direction and gain a tour support slot alongside her pop idol Britney.
All has remained cloudy on the music front from Jessie And the Toyboys for the last couple of years but it has now come to light that Jessie is re-generated once more and sporting the lovely new moniker of Eden Xo (Eden being her middle name)
The now sound of Eden Xo is again bubbly and vivacious at the first look of new Fred Falke and Ron Fair produced track “Too Cool To Dance”. Suited with a hot disco streak carrying through and not too unlike the early Fred Falke collaborative tracks with Florrie, “Too Cool To Dance” is a pleasantly frothy and generously encouraging measure of unabashed disco pop ear candy from Eden Xo.
We’re certainly now hoping that Eden Xo will be staying as is for a bit and showing more of her of disco diva persona to us in the immediate future.
