Clay

Can I let you into a little secret, every time I see the words brooding song circulating my inbox of late, a tiny bit of my soul cries, enough, enough I want summer on my playlist or big sounding pop full of colour, or some shimmering synths at least. (*inserts a knowing nod to our latest Poptronik Playlist) Of course there will be the exception to this, but you know I can’t help it right now, the urge is strong with me and I just want to fast forward right into summer!

One route to seeing us on our way, is riding on the euphoria of a big stadium filling anthem and it just so happens that this Leeds based band Clay have one such track at their disposal titled “Stay Calm!

Not so much for the faint hearted this one, as the synths are quite statuesque in their crowd seeking grandeur, added to the fact that there might just be an interspersed burst of guitar smuggled in there as well. If anything, you can’t be calling out this one as anything but lively and anyways what is life if you don’t shake it up a little on occasion.

Stay Calm!” is the kind of track that might have the best cut of its success seen achieved out on the festival circuit. As you can just associate with its gigantic indie-pop vibe making out favourably with the likes of the Leeds and Reading, Glastonbury gatherings et all, alike.

And for those days that I like to go out-of-the-box a bit, I think I’ll be hooking out “Stay Calm!” as my go to form of self-help therapy of brooding song circulating my inbox release.

Whilst, I let you mull this one over for yourselves, I’ll leave the band to tell you more about it.

Speaking on their new single and the sound they’ve stuck to, the band said: “When writing this track we wanted a very deep sound sonically. Musically we touched upon people we admire like Michael Jackson for influence. There’s obvious nods with the groove of the track.
