Prior to its arrival, the fierce rebel MC delivers a ballad of sorts.
When I say a ballad, it’s not of course one of the traditional kind, that is all sappy verses and poignantly strapping chorus (this is Gwen Stefani’s kind of thing nowadays and we’ll let her roll with it). And anyways, that would all be a touch too conventionally leaning for a pop radical thinking mind like Elliphant’s. Even more so, that she’s enlisted the might of production assistance from Skrillex in nailing down this salaciously vivid ditty of pop porn.
You can take guide from the title “Spoon Me”, that Elliphant is game on and down for a good time though! Not many singers could get away with being so upfront and brazen about how they like to get dirty in the bedroom, without coming across as being downright crass. Yet, if Elliphant wasn’t so defiantly non-conformist then she’d just be like any other singer cut from the crop of Sweden’s hipster brigade and we wouldn’t be so into bigging her up neither!
I’m not so sure you’d be calling this mood music you’d put on when in the moment, but as a burst of pre-coital foreplay, needless to say this neonised electronic pop romp feeds the mind all sorts of saucy thoughts.
And so, naughty little madam, Elliphant has got us blowing hot in here! Yes, hot in anticipation all the more for the “Living Life Golden” album drop DAMMIT!
