Experimentally visionary pop artist Imogen Heap calls lift off on her much eagerly awaited fourth studio album, the innovatively diverse and daring “Sparks” with the releasing of a count down single “Run-Time”.
It is quite everso, lovely to begin all over in immersing within Imogen’s creativeness. “Run-Time” is positively strewn with an aura radiating of syncopated shimmering synth work, injected with junctures of ethereally pleasing eclectic soundwaves patchworked of percussion, strings and swelling harps, all coated by Imogen’s own familiar airily gilded vocals.
Quite sure the innovative multi-instrumentalist has a fair few tales to impart on how each of these new album tracks came to fruition, however, we do already know this much in that “Run-Time” is the result of dabbling in generative and reactive music connected to a jogging app! Whilst another “Me The Machine” is the product of Imogen’s highly inventive venture of her fabulous music making MiMu gloves.
In further run-up to the release of “Sparks” Immie has also been busy curating this years Reverb Festival at the London Roundhouse (21st-24th August), to be filled with incredible collaborations, interactive installations, talks, workshops together with live performances of visionary music.
Prior to this the Roundhouse will be home to Imogen Heaps giant interactive sonic playground, made up of cutting edge musical tech, including the opportunity try your hands with the MiMu gloves and create music right out of thin air.
Sounds like our summer is now filled to the gills already with all this news of Imogen’s beautiful music that will imminently be landing with us.
