Dead Ceremony

There are moments in a day, when we just have to flick the switch on the fast and furious pace in which we live our lives and for the greater good, when on our own time put a curb on picking up that work call or email, which really doesn’t need to have a respond in an instant.

Much is the same with music isn’t? we all enjoy an uplifting uptempo track, other times it’s a ballad which we reach out to, to complement our emotional state. Circumstance and mood, factor in the specifics on this.

For those times when only a sonically resonating ballad will do to instigate a state of calm and chilled atmosphere there is a stroke of new music “Magic” in this new offering from Kent/London newcomers Dead Ceremony, which fully finds itself fitting the remit.

As an emerging band, in the electronic arena, Dead Ceremony’s sonic flow already stands before them as being considered intelligent, thought-provoking and sleekly modern. Yet it doesn’t necessarily play to a type, more that it lends itself to being open for interpretation and artistic development.

We come in on the band through the track “Magic” just as they are about to release their debut EP “Tell Me Lies”.

Of Dead Ceremony’s track reveals to date, it stands as their most polished attempt at pensively intelligent electronica, steered by a sonic hue. Quite in “Magic” and vocalist Christopher, we are perhaps drawn in comparison, hearing the performance out as a male version of Shura likeness.

It’s a love ballad alright, and a very good one at that. Made of lucidly formed narratives which adhere to a chilled vibe in the main. Ultimately delivering upon a superb end result, by way of a majestically proud and mesmerizingly intoxicating wall of electronic sound.

If you feel the crash and burn of daily life has taken over, slip this on and it should have you drifting away on passing cloud of mind thoughts, seeking solace and encouraging taking some quality time out all in the 3 ½ minutes it takes to play this electronic pop beauty out.
