It’s interesting how things change over time. The arrival of summer used to be synonymous with some ridiculously catchy novelty songs that dominated pop radio. However, I can’t recall the last time such a phenomenon occurred. It’s a weird one, but I kind of miss the silly exuberance those songs brought to the pop scene.
I do not recall hearing such a song, even though I was in Europe on vacation the other week. However, I did receive a lively and vibrant track in my inbox when I arrived back home. It’s called “Bonbon” by LA Laura Paris ft Alezander, and I think it’s the perfect addition to any summer playlist. It’s got a great beat and really captures that summer feeling. I love how it’s a little bit campy too, which makes it even more fun to listen to.
LA Laura Paris, also known as the Glitter Queen, is definitely a free spirit when it comes to her music. She’s making a name for herself with her intoxicating bops, and she’s not afraid to show her true colours. Her track “Kissing Boys” was a hit last year and it’s easy to see why. Her unique sound and style are captivating audiences everywhere.

I must say, her music is quite refreshing. LA doesn’t seem to take herself too seriously, which makes her songs very easy to listen to. However, you can tell that she still puts a lot of effort into creating these upbeat and lively tracks. I appreciate that she’s able to strike a balance between having fun with her music and still delivering quality musicality. There is a notable playful touch to the music that LA will surely admit is a bit fruity, but it only adds to the overall charm. I have already jotted down a note in my diary to check what she has in store for us in the summer of 2024.
