Elex

It’s not so much the case that we are alerted to lady DJ/producer types and so, perhaps I become a little more vested in interest than I probably would be otherwise when a new name of the female persuasion in particular, is brought to my attention.

Cutting it big in such a male dominated arena is a tough gig for woman to go it alone with. I would imagine it to be more than probably a harder profession for a female in the music business than that of a singer or songwriter.
Maybe serving the better way into the fully fledged DJ circuit in these days, comes by approaching the whole process much as Calvin Harris has played to his advantage, and more recent to this (ex-The Wanted’s) Tom Parker, as an all-rounder.

This is the route in which L.A. based female Deejay / producer ELEX is making a name for herself. Under the esteem as a triple threat, she not only plays out her knowledgeable production skills to an open crowd, ELEX is pretty bang-on tidy with her ear pleasing vocal presentation also.

Going into an introduction of forthcoming album “The Light Ages”, the multifaceted artist leans on this year’s EDM hype of tropical house vibes with a summery assisted, blissful anthem “Anywhere The Wind Blows” in her sights.

With additional dibs going to fellow co-producer MKKY. “Anywhere The Wind Blows” is supportive of a melodically alluring vibe, that’s enough to transport you to the white sands and crystal blue waters of an island paradise idyll, cooled off out of the hot baking sun under a Tiki parasol with a jug of Kool Aid in hand.

The call of it, this is the sound of summer 2016 and by and large there are many jumping in on the trend already. By the time summer hits we’ll likeliest be saturated up to our necks in it. In looking out for a sister though, I’m on a pleasure cruising ride with the tropical island vibes of this!
