With festival dates already beginning to be lined-up, avant-garde disco pop diva Róisin Murphy has delivered a hotly anticipated first taste of new album material.
Although, it’s been a good 8 years since Róisin’s last album “Overpowered” was with us, the Irish chanteuse did surprisingly break her music silence last year when she took to lending her ethereal vocal prowess upon ambitious Italian speaking covers EP project “Mi Senti”, whilst also revealing that she was working on new material.
To coin a cherished Moloko / Róisin Murphy phrase “the time is now” that we once again begin to re-discover the haunting visionary creativity of Róisin Murphy through the intriguing titled forthcoming album “Hairless Toys”.
Curious title aside, chosen taster track “Gone Fishing” leads on a blissed-out nocturnal groove of bubbling loungey easy-listening.
Laidback definitely, but not foregoing the expected blend of otherworldly sublime experimental production together with, of course, Róisin’s incomparable breathy vocals arriving exquisitely on point as always.
