Galantis

By the Swedish rule of pop to which we have become accustomed too, we can pretty much guarantee with a stable degree of certainty, that what flows out of the European pop metropolis is going to be all the way brilliant or at the very, very least of expectations rated above average. So, when it is the case that two of Sweden’s most in-demand pop personages form together as one new project, we know to cast an eye over them and get very savvy on them indeed.

Since impacting the webisphere at the tail end of last year, the hype surrounding the juggernauts of dance pop from the newly birthed project of Galantis have proven to be extremely favourable although, let’s just say it’s taken a while for the collaborations efforts to steamroller their magic over on myself though.

Galantis being the collaborative project of Linus Eklund AKA the Icona Pop “I Love It” collaborator Style Of Eye with one half of Bloodshy & Avant / one third of Miike Snow and Co-writer of Britney’s “Toxic” in the figure of Christian Karlsson, have now aced me on the favourable side with the reveal of the latest track “Friend” (Hard Times) which sits on the upcoming self-titled debut EP alongside much applauded effort of the underground sensational track “Smile”.

Coloured in with exuberant dance beats “Friend” (Hard Times), plays on with a synthesized vocalisation that similarly brings to mind another recent dance staple, that of “I Love U So” by Cassius. Although, “Friend” is championed by a highly propulsive wave of slamming bass lines and flutteringly arresting melodies, it assures the ascent of Galantis within the dance pop arena is one that is slaying with a wall of sound immense enough to take on all of Europe and beyond, and is indeed doing so!
