Last weekend, Jay Brannan took over The Borderline in London armed with just himself and his guitar to deliver a heartwarmingly brilliant set of acoustic genius that captivated the mixed crowd of hipsters, music lovers and your not-so-average gays.  It was the first time I had a chance to see Jay Brannan perform and although I was already a fan of his album "Goddamned", seeing him perform live definitely solidifies my belief in him as one of the most intelligent, thought-provoking and honest singer/songwriters of today.

In this EQ exclusive interview with Jay Brannan, we discuss how signature track "Housewife" has changed since he wrote it ten years ago, being an independent artist in the digital age, how the new album is shaping up, why he gets annoyed when people constantly bring up the "gay" singer/songwriter thing and the secret to his recipe for guacamole.

Jay Brannan's latest single "Greatest Hits" is out now on iTunes.
