If you were to ask me what might be one of my most hotly anticipated releases of this up-coming year, I’d have no hesitation in arriving at the answer Elliphant’s “Living Life Golden”. For it is this kind of swaggering hip-pop which has got me really styled out in expectation of its über cool impact and off-centre panache in general.

Where one emerging artist leads, another will follow. Which is so true of Venior, a young singer/songwriter/producer originally from Finland who is currently making Sweden her home.

Most certainly the Scandinavian musical gene pool has been working overtime where Venior is concerned though, as the burgeoning popstar’s sound transitions between the eclectic production savviness of Noonie Bao, combined with the vocal tonality akin to that of Tove Lo whilst, exhibiting the hip-pop front carried off by Elliphant. Going by these ever so glowing credentials I’ve just lavished on Venior you’ll be more than fit to presume that she’s got something quite clued up about her that just flags up a focus of identity and creativity that go beyond her years. Besides, she’s already inked up with Sony Music Finland, so a major launch isn’t far off on the horizon me thinks.

Venior has two tracks racked up already, introduced by the very Robyn situated / Tove Lo esque, quirky playful pop morsel “Monkey With Me” and confirmed official buzz track, the anthemically all points rousing, “Sugar Rush”.

There is A LOT to be excited about here, even though, yes Venior is leaping onto a trend that has previously carried her peers onwards to recognised greatness. There is something underlying that cannot be denied, she also has the quality of pop star presence radiating right the way down from her flailing limbs through her willowy frame, flowing outwards via her swooshing flame haired tresses.

If this this is what comes before the official launch, then wow I rather think Venior might likely be one more of the Scandinavian breed of pop wonderkid to churn out a fair few amazingish song releases as 2016 progresses.
