I always keep an eye out for the artists I follow because sometimes their online interactions lead me to discover new music. Recently, thanks to Bentley Robles and Zee Machine, I stumbled upon Souvenir, an up-and-coming synth-pop artist. Little did they know their posts and interactions helped me discover Souvenir’s music and then I became enthralled. Souvenir, whose real name is Michael Fenuccio, is a Brooklyn-based artist who has been making waves in the music industry since releasing their debut EP, “Human Nature,” in 2022. Their brand of 80s-stylized synth-pop is gaining attention and helping them to stand out amongst the crowd.

The latest Souvenir release is called “Soft Place to Land” and it’s a really catchy track. The title itself is kind of fruity, but it really sums up Souvenir’s music well. He writes authentically about heartbreak and modern queer experiences but also reflects back on his youth. Despite the heavy themes, “Soft Place to Land” is a really fun song with an upbeat groove. It’s all about trying to get someone to notice you and take a chance on you. Definitely worth a listen!
