Olivia Sebastianelli

The very term ‘pop’ carries with it a multitude of variations on what is considered contemporary and modern by today’s standards. Coverage from fun and flirty, mainstream accessible through to the strengths of emotive and purposeful or out-of-the-box experimental and all that goes in-between. What unites the greater cause is that it resonates with a good firm structure of melody to open it up to its greatest potential. Every good singer/songwriter knows this, not least of up-and-coming pop figure Olivia Sebastianelli.

Marking her debut into pop proper, Olivia couldn’t come more readily committed to the ideology of going in big with an on-point sense of purpose, served in the main of a background which saw the youngster exposed to an eclectic mix of influences and inspirations from those who frequented her Grandfather’s Italian restaurant in Soho. These being everyone from a mixture of 80’s popstars to drag queens, actors to local known characters.

A whole social history has been observed by the young Olivia over a coffee-cup in her upbringing, and it is clearly evident from the worldly connected, power pop perspective in which Olivia arrives with hugely melodic debut effort “Lighting Fires”.

Writing with a true sense of lived out honesty entrusted into her songwriting, Olivia’s material comes out on the hot tip to be wholly relatable to others through her strokes of immediately resonating song formation. Clearly something that has been worked hard upon to achieve the accomplished standard that is met by Sebastianelli from the off-set.

The sum of it remains, Olivia understands all of what goes into making a good pop song, that has the ability to have us hanging on every word. Whilst, fully involved with all the high definition of melodic pop trappings.

Olivia isn’t a singer/songwriter per sé, on the strength of “Lighting Fires” she should be very much considered an artist already! and an exciting one at that!
