An electro-pop singer from Israel who’s been making waves in his home country and causing excitement across Europe due to his unique and exciting musical style. Having just listened to “Mood” by Barak. I have to say, it feels like he’s getting us ready for the spooky season with this one. The song is a mix of electro-pop and high drama and is without doubt a captivating listen. However, it’s definitely, not a typical summer anthem musically, but the lyrics are definitely, so provocative and deliciously tempting. I think Barak really wants us to live in the moment and embrace our inner drama queens and kings.
In fact, it is pretty obvious, that it’s all about going out with a view to hooking up. Apparent because of the brazen style of the lyrics. The lyrics cut to the chase in an instant, but I have to also admit, it’s catchy, nonetheless.
Nour Hijazi directed the music video for “Mood” at Madrid’s iconic Axel Hotel. It is a collaboration with DJs from the WE Group (the largest gay party experience). The visual is alluring and has the power to spellbind and intrigue in equal measures. With the music video in mind, Barak’s intention was to create something truly mesmerizing. In my opinion, he has accomplished this using just the right amount of sexiness and tantalizing brief glimpses of a shower scene.
I have to say, Barak’s unabashed approach is a win-win for me. This song showcases an emerging talent who knows exactly how to engage and enthral his audience. I can’t get enough of it!
