Nocturnal is proof positive that you shouldn’t judge a movie by it’s trailer.

At first watch of the trailer, Nocturnal didn’t exactly spark my interest, but I’m super glad that I persisted with the movie because, well, it made me an instant fan of newcomer Cosmo Jarvis. I must immediately watch Calm With Horses (aka The Shadow of Violence) and look forward to seeing him show up in HBOMax’s new epic sci-fi adventure Raised By Wolves (which I’m already obsessed with).

In Nocturnal, Laurie, a cynical schoolgirl, builds a secret friendship with Pete (Cosmo Jarvis), an older man who is seemingly obsessed with her.

You can’t really talk too much about the film without giving away the main spoiler, but the main plot twist is an interesting one that will have you studying each character’s every move intently – as awkward and uncomfortable that it may make you feel…
