There’s a new "IT" boy on the scene, though perhaps “new” is not the proper term. Canadian Blake McGrath has been around for many years now, working with some of the music industry’s hottest artists. After all, he has counted Madonna, Britney, J Lo, and Michael AND Janet Jackson (see him in her smoldering “Rock With U” video) amongst his collaborators and friends. But until now, his collaborations have been mainly in the world of choreography and dance.

Though he started in the entertainment world as an actor, he soon emerged as a dancer to be reckoned with and was chosen to perform in Michael Jackson’s 30th anniversary special. From there he danced with many other superstars, but would get his first taste of personal fame as a contestant and fan fave on the first season of "So You Think You Can Dance". That led to J-Lo picking him up to star in her reality show DanceLife and his current gig as a choreographer and judge on "So You Think You Can Dance – Canada". Go to his Myspace page for some samples of his dance work.

Though I was aware of Blake, I never really had much interest in him until I caught the vid for his new song “The Night (Only Place To Go)”. How smokin’ is it?   And really, it’s only natural that the 25-year-old would want to expand his horizons and join the ranks of multi-talented performers like Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga. While demos of hot electro-pop songs like “Runway” and “Dance With Me” have been circulating on blogs for the past year, he finally signed a deal with Universal and released “The Night” as his official first single. With an album soon to follow, it’s only a matter of time before he’s challenging Justin and Gaga on the charts.

Check out samples of what to expect on his Myspace page dedicated solely to his music.  And because we LOVE his video for "The Night" so much – we are going to post it again for you…
