"Solomon-LeGarcon"

Before hip-hop/pop artist Solomon unleashes his official debut album, Why Boys Cry, later this year, the singer/songwriter is giving his fans his third extended play, Le Garçon, next week and allowed EQ to stream the anticipated project before it is heard anywhere else.

Preceded by the heart wrenching and critically-acclaimed The Way We Were“ as well as the unique “Swim No More“, the new EP marks yet another successful change in sound and style for the ever-evolving artist.

Covering issues of sex, heartbreak, violence and depression, Le Garçon is told from the point of view of the little tyrant who lives inside the man. The 11-track album includes original material including collaborations with Baron and SolRay Records artist LastO as well as touching poems, interludes and a hidden track which should please Solomon‘s devoted followers.

“I am not a fan of a la carte music listening. So I wanted to break down this EP in pieces,” Solomon says. “Which is why it is important for me to tell a story from beginning to end with interludes, poems and a hidden track. Some of the interludes tie directly into my upcoming album, so this story I’m telling is constant.”

The EP showcases Solomon‘s impressive musical range. While “The Way We Were” is a personal ballad, “3 Dolla Bill” is an ode to sex which borders on the line of raunchy and classy. “Let You Go (Part Une)” is a raw, mid-tempo creation, while “Crash Into You” may just be the artist’s best work to date, relying on strong songwriting, an incredible hook and hypnotic production.

Le Garçon will be available for download exclusively through iTunes on February 4. Signed physical copies of the applaud-worthy effort are also available via Bandcamp and also include a digital copy, three postcards and a sticker designed specifically for the package.

Stream the new EP and watch the genre-bending artist’s latest music video for “Swim No More” below. This is only the beginning for what is shaping up to be a great year for Solomon and his unique and fresh take on the hip-hop, pop and dance genres.
