Before I noticed the garage house beats that made Disclosure a household name, I noticed Sam Smith. In their hit single, “Latch” Sam Smith and his high ranged ad-libs created a soulful vibe that is usually not associated with house music. After hearing the single I searched blogs trying to find more from Sam Smith. In the beginning of my search I only uncovered a YouTube video where he performed an acoustic version of the dance track. With only a piano and a small audience the emerging star gave a stellar performance.

Less than a year after his collaboration with Disclosure, the 21-year-old singer has opened for Jessie Ware and released a chart topping single with British producer Naughty Boy. Their single, “La La La” actually kicked Daft Punk and Pharrell out of the UK top spot. With only a handful of singles Sam Smith and his versatile tone proves that he will be a force in several genres this year. He has a voice for the dance floor, but can also deliver an enchanting performance designed for an intimate venue. At the turn of this year he released his jazzy debut single, “Lay Me Down” that finally reveals his unique style.

Let’s make this a 2 for 1 deal. You will thank us later.
