{"id":35385,"date":"2023-10-23T10:57:45","date_gmt":"2023-10-23T09:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/?p=35385"},"modified":"2023-10-23T10:57:52","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T09:57:52","slug":"hit-man-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/hit-man-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Boys On Film &#8211; Hit Man @ BFI London Film Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"cb-itemprop\" itemprop=\"reviewBody\">\n<p>Your trusty <strong>Boys On Film <\/strong>&#8211; <strong>Phil Marriott<\/strong> and <strong>Raj Rudolph<\/strong> (moi) did the <strong>BFI London Film Festival<\/strong> again this year and our first review is from one of our favorite directors Richard Linklater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We simply couldn&#8217;t miss this one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HIT MAN<\/strong> is an American action comedy film co-produced and directed by Linklater and starring <strong>Glen Powell<\/strong>, both of whom wrote the screenplay based on the 2001 Texas Monthly magazine article of the same name by <strong>Skip Hollandsworth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"HIT MAN Movie Review LFF 2023 - Boys On Film\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/O4OrV3LA9aA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When I tell you this &#8220;strange-but-kinda-true&#8221; film is unexpectedly funny &#8211; I mean it. I didn&#8217;t have much expectations going into this one, but by the time I left, I was smiling ear-to-ear. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So without further ado, here&#8217;s our in-depth review of <strong>HIT MAN<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not sure when <strong>HIT MAN<\/strong> comes out, but go see it &#8211; streaming or in theatres, it&#8217;s a good time &#8211; especially if you like a bit of dark comedy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>From IMDB:<\/strong> Gary Johnson is the most sought-after professional killer in New Orleans. To his clients, he is like something out of a movie: the mysterious gun for hire. But if you pay him to rub out a cheating spouse or an abusive boss, you&#8217;d better watch your back he works for the cops. When he breaks protocol to help a desperate woman trying to flee an abusive husband, he finds himself becoming one of his false personas, falling for the woman and flirting with turning into a criminal himself.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hit Man is a &#8220;strange-but-kinda-true&#8221; film and is unexpectedly funny &#8211; I mean it.
