Although it may appear so on first impression. I want to assure the EQ Music Blog readers I have not taken leave of my senses. Most of you will be aware, Nothing but Thieves is a rock band. And therefore understand that I would not feature them on this blog site without a good reason. I do so because of the band’s latest release, “Welcome to the DCC.” The first focus single lifted from the upcoming fourth album “Welcome to the Dead Club City“. This release is a juggernaut of pop and electro-rock proportions, and I find the song hard to avoid. Moreover, it has become stuck in my head since I returned from my vacation.

Without a doubt, my gravitation to “Welcome to the DCC” is a knock-on effect from twelve days of sailing at sea with only one onboard radio channel available. I hasten to add one that featured an unhealthy amount of David Guetta and Bebe Rexha‘s “I’m Good (Blue)” and Miley Cyrus‘s “Flowers”. To correct the balance, I craved the loudest blast of electro when back on dry land.

"Listen
