Because I&#8217;d like to share with you the latest track and video from the Nashville-based pop artist and songwriter <strong>Kev Kelly<\/strong>. This weekend he got my undivided attention with his new song &#8220;<strong>Faster<\/strong>.&#8221; Unlike many tracks today, this track does not come from a personal slant, which made it immediately appealing to me. While it is good that songwriters and lyricists are opening up authentically with their lyrics, more and more. I do miss the fun side of pop, sometimes (novelty songs excluded, obviously). &#8220;<strong>Faster<\/strong>&#8221; is the beginning of a bigger project from Kev Kelly. A two-part EP containing a complete story told in two parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI hate when couples call each other \u2018partners in crime,\u201d proclaims <strong>Kev Kelly<\/strong>. \u201cMy guy, you\u2019re going to Chipotle; you\u2019re not committing federal offenses. So, what if you actually committed a crime together? Bet you\u2019d turn on each other real quick, huh? Money feels better when you don\u2019t have to share it. F*ck outta here.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the inspiration behind Kelly\u2019s newest single, \u201c<strong>Faster<\/strong>,\u201d the first release from his forthcoming two-part EP, &#8220;<strong>This Might Escalate\u2026 And Then Collapse<\/strong><em>&#8220;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/geo.music.apple.com\/gb\/album\/faster\/1605173182?i=1605173184&amp;itsct=music_box_badge&amp;itscg=30200&amp;app=music&amp;ls=1\" style=\"display: inline-block; overflow: hidden; border-radius: 13px; width: 250px; height: 83px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tools.applemediaservices.com\/api\/badges\/listen-on-apple-music\/standard-black\/en-us?size=250x83&amp;releaseDate=1644537600&amp;h=e0f3f52624cbe605b13e871f4d592e37\" alt=\"Listen on Apple Music\" style=\"border-radius: 13px; width: 250px; height: 83px;\"><\/a>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kev Kelly - Faster (Official Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YWpISqazQJk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>I am hazarding a guess Kev might really like, movies and musicals. I feel both artistic mediums have had some influence on this project. Either way, a story running through a project is a cunningly good idea to keep his fans engaged with all of the new songs planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Musically Kev&#8217;s style reminds me of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eqmusicblog.com\/?s=alex+di+leo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alex Di Leo<\/a><\/strong> a little bit. They both hone a slick pop sound with catchy melodies and timeless appeal. The best part is, the music is easy on the ear but the music videos are places we can escape into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kev Kelly, I fall for the bait. After listening to and watching the first part of the &#8220;<strong>This Might Escalate\u2026 And Then<\/strong> <strong>Collapse<em>&#8220;<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0story unfold. This project release is definitely one I plan to keep watching, not least because the music has pure pop flair.
